Another entry, this one a more overt homage to the original film, featuring the lipstick-face demon. I was impressed by the film's treatment of the hierarchy of supernatural creatures. The human ghosts that wanted to live again, parasite souls with hidden motives, and then at the top of the food chain, the demon who unlike the others, was never human to begin with. I have to give Insidious props for having the best of both worlds: the subtly haunting ghost story, and a full-on monster.
That said, the piece is a little tribute to that memorable character, played by none other than the composer Joseph Bishara. Now I can't help but imagine him conducting the soundtrack in full-makeup.
