This digital painting and others like it come from memories of the large windows in my childhood home. At night they looked out into solid darkness. My ultimate fear was to come downstairs and see something staring at me through them.
This piece is also inspired largely by what is probably my favorite scary movie, Insidious. For those who haven't seen it, the movie's a rare gem that packs a truly terrifying punch with not a drop of gore in sight. It's very old-fashioned scary, the first movie of its kind that I've enjoyed in a LONG time.
